Job description

Job Title:         Product Design Engineer

Client:              Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company

Duration:         12 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)

Location:         Moline, IL 61265

Shift:                1st Shift (Onsite)

Description:

  • Create and modify 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Creo.
  • Support product design and modeling activities for engineering projects.
  • Perform feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions under supervision.
  • Develop engineering drawings for design communication, evaluation, and implementation.
  • Assist with product development, engineering analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Develop and follow engineering testing standards and procedures.
  • Extract and organize engineering data using spreadsheets and standard formats.
  • Respond to routine engineering and technical inquiries following established procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company engineering standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers to create accurate models and technical documentation.
  • Operate engineering tools and systems while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Resolve routine issues and escalate complex engineering concerns as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Creo for 3D modeling and drafting.
  • Experience with PDM/Windchill.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers to develop models and drawings.
  • Ability to calculate basic tolerance stack-ups.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage engineering documentation.
  • Understanding of engineering design principles and product development processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience following CAD modeling best practices.
  • Ability to annotate models in Creo.
  • Familiarity with engineering specifications, implementation, and compliance.
  • Experience with engineering data analysis and reporting.
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology or a related technical field.
