Summary
Provides maintenance for County buildings through one of the following: preventive maintenance, equipment and machinery repairs, heating and air conditioning, carpentry or painting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plans repair, building or remodeling projects accordingly. Orders needed supplies.
2. Performs remodeling tasks for County buildings which may include one of the following skill sets being used by the incumbent: painting, carpentry or electrical work.
3. Repairs and maintains HVAC systems and associated building equipment.
4. Assists with moving furniture and office equipment.
5. Sets up furniture in specific configurations for special events.
6. Performs plumbing repairs.
7. Assists and supervises the work of contractors and vendors.
8. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years experience in building maintenance operations.
  • Must have working knowledge of commercial building operations, life safety systems, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to climb, walk, lift, stand, stoop, kneel, climb, crawl, push and pull. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and/or electrical hazards. Exposed to outside weather conditions on an occasional basis. This position may require overtime, rotating shifts nights, evenings, weekends and holiday work. Candidates must have the ability to pass a criminal background investigation prior to employment.
