Summary The Nurse, Specialist - NFP will be responsible for assisting with the daily functions of Public Health including providing comprehensive community health nursing services to women and their families eligible for the Nurse Family Partnership, according to the guidelines of the Nurse Family Partnership (NFP). Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Supports the guidelines and standards of the NFP Program and Public Health. Promotes awareness of NFP throughout Tarrant County. Develops and maintains community relations to support NFP referrals.

Completes all required NFP training and continuing education. Assesses physical, emotional, social, and environmental needs of women and their families as they relate to the NFP guidelines. Consults and collaborates with other professionals involved in providing services to women and their families.

Maintains a caseload of 25 active clients and fulfills reporting responsibilities. Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required. Knowledge Skills & Abilities Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.. Must be able to stay organized and know how to prioritize the workload.. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Competency with computers and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.. Advanced analytical skills. Good knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of field of nursing

Good presentation skills. Ability to make professional nursing decisions and operate autonomously under the NFP guidelines. Flexible work availability is needed to facilitate home visits.

Minimum Requirements Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) with two (2) years related experience OR An Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent and four (4) years of related experience. Current Texas or multistate compact (including Texas) RN license required. Texas RN license required within ninety (90) days of hire.

Must possess a valid driver license, with good driving record. To be considered for this position, your application must be complete and clearly reflect the minimum qualifications. Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, carry, climb stairs, grasp/squeeze, use hand tools, hear, keyboard, kneel, lift below the waist, lift between the waist and shoulder, lift overhead, lift to the side/twist, tolerate noise, pull, push, reach, reach overhead, perform repetitive tasks, see color, see far and near, sit, squat, stand, stoop, talk, twist, use his/her hands, drive a vehicle, walk, and work alone and with others.

Exposure to active infectious diseases and body fluids, possible needle sticks, and restraining of children.
