Job description

The Engineering Supervisor oversees all aspects of maintenance for the equipment and facilities at the 800,000 sq. ft. Zanesville Distribution Center. This role involves direct supervision of 10-12 Avon Associates and indirect oversight of 12-14 contract employees.

ย Key responsibilities include ensuring safety and environmental compliance, managing work order scheduling and inventory, supporting capital projects, and preparing for inclement weather. Additionally, the Engineering Supervisor shares responsibility for the Engineering budget and indirect sourcing contract management.

Salary USD$65,000.00 - 72,000.00/yr

Shift: 3rd shift

ย Requirements

ย Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in a technical discipline required; BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Experience: 3+ years of experience leading a facilities maintenance team in a manufacturing, production, or distribution center environment.

ยทSkills:

  • Project/process management, continuous process improvement, and quality control experience strongly preferred.
  • ย  Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams, troubleshoot, test, and repair mechanical and electronic devices. PLC programming skills are a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge in general plant maintenance, HVAC, preventative maintenance, and mechanical facilities maintenance.Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong PC literacy.
  • ย Communication: Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • ย ย Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with OSHA regulations and their application in the workplace.
  • ย Procurement: Experience in specifying, selecting, and purchasing parts and equipment to maintain production systems.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, frequent standing and walking, and the ability to work long hours and occasional weekends.

Work Environment: Regular exposure to a light industrial production environment.

Language: Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)

ย Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction to design, plan install and maintain plant facilities, mechanical, electrical equipment, and the associated controls.
  • Schedule and direct all assigned regulatory testing including Alarm and Fire suppression systems.
  • Performs vendor selection, emergency repair authorization and prioritization, final approval of work, manages decisions affecting indirect contract services on their shift.
  • Must be able to make sound decisions that affect the daily operation of the business.
  • Responsible for making decisions that affect Team Members based on Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and training to Engineering and Operations Team Members.
  • Responsible for Distribution operations, 7 days a week.ย 
  • Must be available in person, as required, to support engineering activities and operational emergencies outside of normal business hours.
  • Frequently required to independently make business decisions.
  • Decisions will have significant impact on quality, cost, and service levels.
  • Actions routinely taken to ensure the building infrastructure support for the Zanesville facility.ย 
  • Responsible for ongoing operations of the facility and grounds
