Job description

Manufacturing Process Engineer

Pay Rate: Negotiable based on experience level ($70k/yr+)

Shift: Days

Description:

  • Cannonball Recruiting is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for a growing company that services the aerospace, government, and commercial industries.  A prospective candidate will be will be responsible for supporting all manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principals.

Job Duties:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot manufacturing issues
  • Develop highly capable manufacturing processes for new products
  • Revise existing processes to minimize risk
  • Design new fixturing and/or gages
  • Create 2D and 3D drawings (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor)
  • Oversee the verification of processes meeting the requirements of Engineering drawings
  • Actively participate in team-based problem solving and continuous improvement activities
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement employee suggestions and employee driven continuous improvement activities

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience with Lean manufacturing desired
  • Structured problem-solving skills
  • CAD experience, Autodesk desired
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Tolerance stack up analysis
  • An understanding of non-machining processes such as plating, coatings, welding and brazing
  • Understanding the complexities of 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC Machining
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Manufacturing experience and/or machining experience desired
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in either Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and/or experience as a machinist
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in developing processes for the machining of various metallic or composite components

Work Environment:

  • Clean shop with new machinery (Akuma, Doosan, Haas, Mazak)
  • 9100 Quality Standard
