Job description
X-Ray Technician
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented X-Ray Technician (Radiologic Technologist) to perform diagnostic imaging examinations for patients in accordance with physician orders. The technician is responsible for producing high-quality radiographic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with radiation protection standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures as ordered by physicians
- Prepare patients for radiologic examinations and explain procedures clearly
- Position patients correctly to obtain accurate and high-quality images
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure proper radiation safety protocols for patients, self, and staff
- Review images for quality and make adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR systems
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers regarding imaging results
- Follow infection control, HIPAA, and hospital safety guidelines
- Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance checks
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
- Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT certification preferred or required depending on state)
- Active state license in Radiologic Technology (if applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of radiation safety standards and imaging protocols
- Prior experience in hospital or outpatient imaging center preferred
- Strong attention to detail and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Familiarity with digital imaging systems (PACS, EMR)
- Hospital, urgent care, or outpatient imaging facility
- May require standing for long periods and assisting patients with mobility
- Exposure to controlled radiation environments with safety protocols in place.
