Our challenge

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Business System Analyst with a deep understanding of the Commercial Lending domain and a proven track record of success within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). In this pivotal role, candidate will be instrumental in driving the analysis and definition of our complex commercial lending solutions within our SAFe environment. Candidate will collaborate closely with Product Management, System Architects, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and development teams to ensure alignment on business value and the successful delivery of high-quality system capabilities.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA is$105k - $115k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage extensive knowledge of the commercial lending ecosystem, including Credit Analysis processing flows, Client Onboarding, Risk & Underwriting and fraud management

  • Operate as a key member of Agile Release Trains (ARTs), actively participating in PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops. Understand and apply SAFe principles and practices in daily work.

  • Lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with Product Owners and other stakeholders, translating business epics and features into well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria within the SAFe framework.

  • Translate business needs into clear and comprehensive system specifications, including user story mapping, DB field level mapping, API Mapping, process flows, data models, and interface specifications, ensuring alignment with the architectural runway and non-functional requirements.

  • Actively participate in backlog refinement sessions, ensuring user stories are well-understood, prioritized, and ready for sprint planning.

  • Foster strong communication and collaboration within and across ARTs. Effectively communicate complex information to both business and technical stakeholders, including during SAFe ceremonies.

  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure that implemented solutions meet the defined acceptance criteria and business value. Participate in system and solution testing as needed.

  • Provide ongoing support throughout the Program Increment (PI) and sprint cycles, addressing queries, clarifying requirements, and contributing to the successful delivery of product

  • Mentor and guide other Business Analysts within the team on both Commercial Lending domain knowledge and SAFe practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Business System Analyst, specifically in Commercial Lending or banking systems.

  • Strong understanding of commercial lending processes, loan lifecycle, underwriting, and credit risk assessment.

  • Familiarity with banking/fintech systems such as LOS (Loan Origination Systems), CRM, and core banking platforms.

  • Proficiency in requirements gathering, process modeling, and creating documentation.

  • Experience with system testing, UAT management, and training.

  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations such as Dodd-Frank, Basel III, or local banking compliance standards is a plus.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or related fields.

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Data analysis skills with tools like SQL, Excel, or BI platforms.

  • Knowledge of API integration and system interoperability.
