Job description

The Dump Truck & Transfer Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of mineral concentrate between Bunker Hill Mine in Kellogg, Idaho and Teck Metals in Trail, BC. This role operates end dump transfer equipment, performs front-end loader loading activities, manages cross-border documentation, and ensures compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Success in this position requires a commitment to safety, equipment care, professionalism, and reliable service.

Compensation & Schedule

$35.00 per hour (trip rate based on cycle time)

Drivers are paid in accordance with the applicable rate for this position. Additional premiums, allowances, and benefits may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Operate end dump transfer truck and trailer hauling mineral concentrate
  • Self-load material using a front-end loader at mine site
  • Complete cross-border trips between Trail, BC and Kellogg, Idaho
  • Manage customs documentation and ensure compliance for every trip
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and equipment compliance
  • Secure loads and ensure safe transportation practices
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs and trip data using ISAAC system
  • Keep equipment clean and in safe working condition

Qualifications

  • Clean-shaven (respirator compliance requirement)
  • Valid Class 1 Driver's Licence
  • Ability to cross the Canada-U.S. border (valid passport required)
  • Experience operating end dump or similar equipment preferred
  • Comfortable with manual loading operations (front-end loader use)
  • Strong understanding of safety and compliance requirements
  • Acceptable commercial driver's abstract
  • Ability to pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Testing
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
