Job Title: Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist – SLP

Location: Roanoke / Salem, VA & Surrounding Areas (In-Home Patient Care)

Schedule: PRN (Flexible Scheduling Available)

Job Overview: Interim HealthCare of SW Virginia is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist – SLP to join our team serving Roanoke, Salem, and the surrounding coverage areas. This position is ideal for an SLP who enjoys working independently while helping patients improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive function within the comfort of their home environment.

As a Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist – SLP, you will provide personalized, one-on-one therapy focused on improving patient outcomes and quality of life while supporting patients and families through individualized care plans.

Responsibilities of Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist – SLP:
  • Provide in-home speech therapy services for patients experiencing communication, swallowing, or cognitive impairments
  • Evaluate patients’ speech and language abilities and perform periodic re-evaluations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and therapeutic programs
  • Administer diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and exercises
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records
  • Educate caregivers and family members on therapy goals, exercises, and safety practices
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team members to coordinate patient care
  • Maintain effective communication with physicians, caregivers, and care team members
Qualifications of Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist – SLP:
  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Speech Therapy required
  • Active, unrestricted SLP license in the state of Virginia
  • Current CPR/AED/BLS/First Aid certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional SLP experience (home health preferred)
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to patient homes
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused
  • Ability to work independently in a home setting
