We have an exciting opportunity for an Inspector- Stopple (SGL6) based in Little Rock, AR.

POSITION SUMMARY

This role will plan, coordinate, and inspect the field work performed by outside contractors with the objective of assuring that work conforms to company standards, specifications, and schedules. Work includes but is not limited to installation, operation, repair of gas mains and service lines and service-related work that is performed at the customerโ€™s meters.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Observe and inspect all phases of work performed by contractors to assure conformance with company standards and procedures. Interpret blueprints and drawings of work to be performed. Complete all company required documentation including mapping and material reconciliation.
  • Plan projects and ensure compliance; may assign and complete work orders in SAP.
  • Verify billed amounts and approve contractor/vendor charges.
  • Schedule and inspect work performed by one or more contract crews.
  • Perform stopple work for all states.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High school or GED
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of related gas construction experience or related utility experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and meticulous analytical capability
  • Strong ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects successfully while maintaining an even-keel approach and commitment to deadlines.
  • Certify and don personal protective equipment, such as respirator, safety glasses, hardhat, gloves, protective footwear, and earplugs daily.
  • Exert routine physical effort on a regular basis.
  • Able to use the proper tools for any given job.
  • Able to input data into company software to complete work orders.
  • Operate a motor vehicle and the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Utilize companyโ€™s mapping system effectively.
  • Able to work independently or in a team-based environment to accomplish assignments and achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrates an aptitude for basic mechanical tasks.
  • Able to perform stopples for all states in our system.
