Work Environment

This position is structured within a remote outpatient clinic setting, allowing for flexibility and the opportunity to connect with patients from the comfort of their own homes or our established facility. Our work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As an LMFT, you will utilize telehealth technologies for virtual sessions, which involves working hand-in-hand with our digital systems to offer seamless, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and nurture a positive, trusting relationship with patients, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Diagnose and treat a variety of mental health disorders, employing evidence-based practices and individualized approaches.
  • Create personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
  • Conduct regular counseling sessions with individuals, couples, and families, continuously adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing assessments and patient feedback.
  • Perform thorough assessments to evaluate patient progress and effectiveness of treatment strategies, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and refer clients to specialists as necessary, addressing concurrent issues such as addiction.
  • Provide psychoeducation and resources to empower clients to pursue healthier lifestyles.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population that spans various demographics and backgrounds. From young couples seeking to enhance their relationships, to individuals battling mental health challenges, you will have the opportunity to impact lives significantly. Your expertise in addressing co-occurring disorders, particularly in relation to addiction counseling, will be paramount in guiding clients toward holistic recovery.

Qualifications
  • A valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia.
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong therapeutic skills, with a proven ability to motivate and engage clients in their treatment journey.
  • Solid understanding of evidence-based practices for treating substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, necessary for a thriving team environment.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of experience providing mental health counseling, specifically focusing on individual, couples, and family therapy.
  • Specialized training or hands-on experience in addiction counseling is highly desirable, enhancing your ability to support patients with complex needs.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes retirement benefits, a new hire bonus, 401(k) with company matching, mileage reimbursement, and pay on demand. Additionally, employees working 30 hours or more a week qualify for full compensation and benefits.
