Job description

At Summit Credit Union, we believe great training creates great experiences—for both employees and members.

As a Senior Mortgage Sales Training Specialist, you'll play a critical role in developing, coaching, and supporting Mortgage Loan Officers throughout their careers. Through training expertise, mortgage industry knowledge, and strong partnerships with business leaders, you'll help employees build the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional service and lending solutions that support our members' financial wellness.

What You'll Do (Your Impact)

  • Design, develop, and facilitate engaging training programs that create positive learning experiences and achieve established learning and performance objectives.
  • Provide onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development for new and existing Mortgage Loan Officers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Summit's mortgage products, services, sales processes, and systems, including Mortgage Cadence.
  • Partner with Learning & Development to create and maintain training content that enhances individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Evaluate and update training curriculum to ensure content remains current, relevant, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Support change management initiatives and business projects by leading training efforts that drive adoption and business results.
  • Collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams to identify skill gaps and implement development solutions that support organizational goals.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and professional growth across the Mortgage Sales team.
  • Ensure training and business practices support compliance with BSA, OFAC, and Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements.
  • Measure training effectiveness and recommend improvements that enhance employee performance and the member experience.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
  • 5+ years of consumer banking experience.
  • Strong knowledge of first mortgage products, processes, and lending practices.
  • Experience identifying member needs and recommending lending solutions that support individual financial goals.
  • Proven ability to train, coach, and motivate employees through both technical and soft-skill development.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with leaders, business partners, and team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mortgage platforms and related technology solutions.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
