Description
We are hiring a Senior Commercial Counsel to serve as a trusted legal partner to Steelcase's commercial business. In this role, you will provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance that helps enable growth, support customer and dealer relationships, and manage legal and commercial risk.
This is a unique opportunity to work closely with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Dealer Development, Finance, Operations, Product Management, and other business teams while helping shape how legal support enables the business in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
What You Will Be Doing:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer agreements, dealer and distribution agreements, supplier agreements, master service agreements, NDAs, professional services agreements, and marketing-related agreements.

Who You Are:
You are a practical, business-minded attorney who can translate complex legal issues into clear guidance that helps leaders make informed decisions. You build trust quickly, balance risk with business objectives, and are comfortable working closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic commercial environment.
You enjoy being close to the business, understanding how work gets done, and helping leaders move work forward in a way that is thoughtful, compliant, and commercially sound.

• 8+ years of progressively responsible legal experience.
• Significant experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on complex commercial contracts.
• Experience serving as legal counsel to business executives or commercial organizations.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracting principles, contract negotiation, and commercial transaction law.
• Strong legal drafting, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, consumer products, distribution, business-to-business, or similar commercial organizations.
• Experience working with dealer, distributor, or channel partner networks.
• Combination of law firm and in-house corporate legal experience.
• Familiarity with legal issues related to sales, marketing, commercial operations, finance, credit, advertising, data privacy, consumer protection, or antitrust.
• Experience improving contracting processes, templates, playbooks, or contract lifecycle management practices.
