Job description

Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) – Part-Time to Full-Time

We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to join our team on a part-time to full-time basis. The CLS will perform routine and specialized medical laboratory testing to support the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of disease.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical laboratory tests accurately and efficiently in accordance with established laboratory procedures and quality standards.
  • Perform testing in areas including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, immunology, and other assigned laboratory disciplines.
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers.
  • Perform and document quality control procedures and review results for accuracy and acceptability.
  • Analyze and validate patient test results and promptly report critical or abnormal results according to established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
  • Follow all applicable laboratory safety, infection-control, quality-assurance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
  • Assist with specimen processing and other laboratory functions as needed.
  • Perform additional laboratory duties within the scope of the CLS license.

Licenses, Certifications & Qualifications
  • Must possess a current and valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license issued by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
  • Must meet all applicable California requirements to perform testing within the scope of the position.
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred.
  • Experience with the listed laboratory analyzers is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately analyze and document laboratory results.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the laboratory and clinical team.
