Position Summary
Systems Products and Solutions, Inc. (SPS) is seeking a highly skilled Acquisition Lead, Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the U.S. Army's Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft Program Office. The Acquisition Lead serves as the principal acquisition advisor, providing specialized expertise in DoD acquisition, logistics, and lifecycle management while leading acquisition planning, program execution, contracting support, and milestone activities. This position partners with Government leadership, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and industry stakeholders to ensure successful execution of acquisition strategies and compliance with DoD and Army policies.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead acquisition planning and execution activities supporting the Program Office throughout the acquisition life cycle.
  • Advise Government leadership on acquisition strategies, policies, regulations, and best practices in accordance with DoD and Army acquisition guidance.
  • Develop, review, and coordinate acquisition documentation, milestone decision packages, acquisition strategies, acquisition plans, and supporting program documentation.
  • Support program planning by identifying required tasks, task dependencies, resource requirements, technical reviews and acquisition milestones to ensure successful program execution.
  • Coordinate to support solicitations, contract modifications, source selections, and acquisition planning activities.
  • Review, evaluate, and provide recommendations on Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure quality, completeness, and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Prepare executive-level briefings, reports, issue papers, decision memorandums, staffing packages, and acquisition documentation for senior leadership.
  • Participate in and facilitate Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings to coordinate acquisition efforts and support risk management activities across engineering, logistics, finance, contracting, and test organizations.
  • Lead and support acquisition risk management activities by identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring, and reporting program risks through the appropriate Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Develop, review, and maintain acquisition documentation throughout all phases of the acquisition life cycle, including, but not limited to, Contract Requirements Packages (CRPs), Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation, proposal evaluations, acquisition negotiation support, Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSPs), Product Support Business Case Analyses (BCAs), Logistics Determination documentation, and Independent Logistics Assessments (ILAs), ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
  • Analyze and report program performance by tracking actual progress against planned objectives, schedules, and acquisition milestones to support informed decision-making.
  • Assist with budget planning, program objective development, and execution planning as required.
  • Support process improvement initiatives that enhance acquisition efficiency and program execution.
  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to acquisition team members and junior staff.
  • Adhere to the company's AS9100 and QMS policy, procedures and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Education
  • BS/BA in Acquisition Management, Engineering, Business, Logistics, Finance, or a related discipline and twenty-five (25) years of related experience.
  • OR a MS/PHD in either a technical, business, or management area, from an accredited college or university, with twenty (20) years of related experience.
  • Extensive experience supporting DoD acquisition programs, preferably within the U.S. Army.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System, Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF), and DoD 5000 series guidance, with experience supporting acquisition strategy development for the ACAT I programs.
  • Expert knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), DoD Army acquisition policies and processes, with experience supporting weapon systems procurement throughout the acquisition life cycle.
  • Experience developing acquisition documentation, acquisition strategies, milestone documentation, and program management artifacts.
  • Experience supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) within a major defense acquisition program.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior Government and contractor leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • DAWIA Practitioner or Advanced Certification (Program Management or Contracting).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience supporting ACAT I or Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAPs).
  • Experience supporting Army Aviation modernization programs, Future Vertical Lift (FVL), Future Long Range Assault Aircraft or PEO Aviation acquisition programs.
  • Experience supporting requirements development, capability documentation, and Army modernization initiatives.
  • Knowledge of PPBE, lifecycle management, systems engineering, and product support processes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, Power BI, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
