Position Overview

Spring Mountain Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time capacity. This remote position offers mental health professionals the opportunity to provide trauma-informed care to individuals confronting the challenges associated with past traumas, including conditions such as PTSD and complex trauma. This role is predominantly remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a connection with patients through our outpatient office structure. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to gather detailed patient histories and determine the most effective treatment approaches.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that promote recovery, incorporating techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their traumatic experiences, cultivate coping strategies, and foster healing.
• Work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and support staff, to deliver integrated care that addresses the complete mental health needs of patients.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and emotional support.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, available resources, and constructive coping mechanisms.
• Ensure accurate documentation and maintain confidentiality, adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.
• Engage in case consultations, ongoing professional development activities, and team meetings that focus on trauma-informed care best practices.
• Stay informed on the latest trauma therapy research and methodologies to continuously enhance the quality of care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve individuals grappling with trauma-related issues, including those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders. Your expertise will enable you to guide patients through evidence-based recovery processes, fostering their resilience and equipping them with the tools necessary for recovery and self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in New York State.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health therapy, preferably focusing on trauma-informed practices.
• Thorough understanding of trauma-related disorders, treatment modalities, and resilience-building techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
• Ability to remain composed in high-stress situations, providing continued support to patients in crisis.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and proficiency in technology applications relevant to mental health practice.
• A collaborative mindset, ready to work cohesively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working in a trauma-informed care setting.
• Expertise in delivering trauma-specific interventions and therapies.
• Demonstrated ability to create treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments.

Compensation and Benefits

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually. In addition to monetary compensation, our benefits package includes:
