Job description

Job Title: Behavior Technician (BT)
Location: Bergen County
Schedule: Hourly

Job Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technicians (BTs) to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide personalized training, support, and care to individuals with developmental disabilities in a nurturing and collaborative environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of others and who thrive in a team-oriented setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and behavior intervention services to individuals with Intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Implement individualized behavior support plans under the supervision of a BCBA
  • Support clients in developing skills in communication, self-help, socialization, and daily living
  • Record data on client progress and behavior throughout each session
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals and family members
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment
  • Maintain organized documentation
  • Follow established protocols, including safety, confidentiality, and reporting procedures

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Experience or education in Human Services, developmental disabilities, psychology, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with autism and/or behavioral challenges is highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patience, empathy, and compassionate demeanor
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Must have current First Aid and CPR certification (required)
  • Must pass fingerprinting/background checks

Compensation:

  • Pay Range: $25.00 – $50.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and credentials)
