Senior Technical Writer


On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for a Senior Technical Writer for a contract opportunity located in Santa Clara, CA.


Senior Technical Writer Job Details


As Senior Technical Writer you help launch our client's new, state-of-the-art wearable devices and platforms, including augmented reality, fitness coaching, and other comprehensive wearable technologies. You will work directly with the product, design and test teams to develop engineering documentation for building and using the most innovative wearable products. You will be working with enthusiastic and experienced peers in an environment that facilitates delivering industry-leading solutions with both creative-edge and high quality.ย 


What You Will Be Doing:

Create clear and concise technical documentation to accompany the latest innovations in the wearable technologyย 

Design user guides, platform architecture overviews, public API programming guides, SDK development tutorials and other engineering documentation for client's new wearable platform and productsย 

Manage large and complex documentation projects, collaborate with senior engineers and program managers to create contentย 

Contributing to platform UI/UX specificationsย 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document new features.ย 

Showcase rich functionality and diversity of the newest wearable devices.ย 

Collaborating with remote global teams, including device, cloud, test, etc. to innovate new technologies with maximum development efficiency.ย 


Senior Technical Writer Mandatory Skills


BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experienceย 

3-5 years of experience writing technical publications for a highly technical audienceย 

Proven track record of researching and writing effective technical documentationย 

Ability to work with engineering teams as part of the software development processย 

Proficiency with HTML and CSSย 

Strong collaboration and project management skillsย 

Experience working directly within a software development team, including extensive interaction with senior engineers and software architectsย 

Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environmentย 


Senior Technical Writer Nice to Have Skills

You have a strong portfolio demonstrating prior work and experiences creating technical documentationย 

Ability to read and understand source code written in Java and/or Swiftย 

Experience working in Agile environment, knowledge of Scrum-based methodologiesย 

Knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and JIRAย 

Familiarity with version control systems, such as Gitย 

Master's Degree or another advanced degree is preferred
