About the Organization

At Solace Health Services, we pride ourselves on our comprehensive approach to mental health care. Located in Norfolk, Virginia, our organization caters to a diverse clientele, delivering evidence-based therapies in a supportive environment. We aim to make a substantial positive impact on people's lives by addressing their mental health needs through personalized and professional therapeutic interventions.

Work Environment

This position is a fully remote role, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while contributing to meaningful mental health initiatives. Our telehealth platform facilitates seamless communication with clients, ensuring a conducive environment for therapy sessions. You'll be part of a nurturing and collaborative team that values ongoing professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed assessments to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, including issues like depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety.
  • Collaborate with clients to design individualized treatment plans that are tailored to their unique backgrounds, goals, and therapeutic preferences.
  • Implement evidence-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to facilitate behavioral change and emotional regulation.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and self-care practices to empower them in their recovery journey.
  • Monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes and address new developments.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to support integrated care approaches for comprehensive treatment.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the field of mental health to enhance therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of client interactions and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and training sessions to foster knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Advocate for clients' mental health needs while actively working towards reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will assist a varied client population, including individuals grappling with mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, as well as vulnerable groups, including those transitioning from homelessness and survivors of domestic abuse. Your expertise will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate their unique challenges, supporting them in obtaining the tools necessary for resilience and recovery.

Qualifications
  • Current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Possess a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to cultivate a safe and trusting relationship with clients.
  • Exhibit high levels of empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental attitude in your interactions with clients, fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.
  • Show strong organizational and time-management skills to efficiently handle case loads and administrative tasks without compromise on care quality.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working with diverse populations and addressing complex mood disorders.
  • Competence in utilizing telehealth technology to deliver counseling services effectively.
  • Engagement in professional development activities and training in the latest therapeutic approaches.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and generous paid time off.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and specialized training in addiction counseling and new therapeutic techniques.
  • A supportive workplace culture that promotes collaboration and mentorship among staff.
  • The chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals seeking recovery and well-being.
