Job description

SNELLING, a locally owned & operated staffing and recruiting firm, is seeking a results-oriented Litigation Assistant to join a local personal injury law firm. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting attorneys, clients, and case progression throughout the litigation process. Candidates with strong employment stability and proven tenure in previous roles are highly preferred.

Role Summary
As a Litigation Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting attorneys throughout all phases of litigation. You will help ensure cases stay organized and on schedule by managing deadlines, preparing and filing legal documents, coordinating case activities, maintaining accurate records, and serving as a key point of contact for clients and case stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, proofread, and file legal documents, including petitions, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and trial-related materials.
  • Handle state and federal court filings, including electronic filing through systems such as eFileTexas.
  • Maintain case files, litigation calendars, and critical deadlines.
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, trials, and other case-related events.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case updates, appointments, and information requests.
  • Request, track, organize, and follow up on medical records, billing records, and other supporting documentation.
  • Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, witness materials, and other litigation support documents.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation and case management activities.
  • Respond professionally to inquiries from clients, courts, medical providers, opposing counsel, and other parties.
  • Enter and maintain accurate information in case management systems.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience: 3-5 years of legal assistant or paralegal experience. Experience in personal injury law is preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Good typing skills (minimum 30 wpm) and data entry (minimum 6,500 kph).
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills with professional appearance and attitude.
  • Soft Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and a cooperative team player.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with case management software particularly Filevine
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English preferred)
