We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal\/ Ductwork Fabricator to join our team! The ideal candidate will be able to pass a weld test, have strong knowledge of different types of metals, interpret blueprints, and produce quality goods that reflect SMSI standards. <\/p>","title":"Sheet Metal - Ductwork Fabricator","company_slug":"smsi","qualifications":"
- Must have proven experience in welding and fabrication and be able to pass a weld test. <\/li>
- Prior experience in fabricating ductwork from light-gauge metals and\/or experience with HVAC ductwork is a plus. <\/li>
- Strong capabilities in interpreting engineering blueprints and drawings. <\/li>
- Experience with fabrication and hand tools. <\/li>
- Excellent understanding of various types of metal and their respective properties. <\/li>
- Capacity to manage physical demands. <\/li>
- Familiarity with Safety regulations and readiness to utilize personal protective Equipment (PPE). <\/li>
- OSHA 10-hour will be required within 30 days of employment. <\/li>
- Experience with painting is a plus, and willingness to be a backup for these positions. <\/li><\/ul>","responsibilities":"
- Assist in making parts for tin ductwork and fittings, using breaks, rolls, hand tools, and proven methods to make quality parts. <\/li>
- Adhere to the blueprints to fulfill the product specifications. <\/li>

- Inspect and examine parts to ensure they meet the quality standards and expectations. <\/li>
- Ensure that equipment and tools are used and kept in good working order, for longevity of tool life and safety purposes. <\/li>

- Paint, weld, and produce quality material, and be able to fill in for other positions around the shop. <\/li>
