    Job description

    Skill Builder - Per Diem
    Location: Garden City, NY | Schedule: Up to 19 hours per week | Status: Non-Exempt |Salary Range: $20/hour
    The Opportunity
    The Skill Builder provides individual and/or group skill building services to enrolled clients who are at risk of or are diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis. Services are provided in the child's home and/or community within Nassau and Western Suffolk County, are hands on, task oriented and intended to help the child achieve their identified goals.
    Responsibilities
    • Provide in-person services to assist the youth in developing and applying skills in natural settings.
    • Provide hands on and task-oriented activities based upon the youth's care plan.
    • Provide advocacy skills to the youth being served.
    • Plan and run skill building groups on site.
    • Complete progress notes for all client contacts
    • Deliver and document services using a strength based and family driven approach.
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned to support the operations of the program.

    Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of two years' experience in children's mental health, or a related human services field
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient computer skills with MS Office.
    • Valid and clean driver's license required.
