Position Overview

Sentara Counseling Services is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) to join our dynamic team in providing high-quality outpatient counseling services. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental and emotional health to understand their needs and concerns.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish tailored treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and ongoing evaluations.
  • Provide individual therapy sessions addressing a myriad of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.
  • Lead couples therapy sessions focused on improving communication, enhancing connection, and resolving conflict.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed client documentation, including treatment plans and progress notes, in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Work alongside interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure clients receive holistic support.
  • Stay informed about current research and best practices in marriage and family therapy to continually enhance professional development.
  • Prepare for and respond to crisis situations, ensuring clients receive immediate support when needed.
  • Advocate for clients' rights, helping them access necessary resources and support services.
  • Foster a safe and confidential therapy environment for clients through effective communication and use of remote counseling tools.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field.
  • Active licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist through the Texas State Board is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing individual and/or couples therapy.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including but not limited to children, adolescents, adults, and couples.
  • Proven ability to complete assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans in a timely manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in electronic health record systems.
  • Familiarity with teletherapy tools and methodologies for effective remote counseling delivery.
Compensation and Benefits
