Job description: CCTV (closed circuit television) operator

Operator will work in a central control room, monitoring and controlling a bank of screens. These are linked to surveillance cameras placed in public places and buildings such as shopping centers, apartment complexes, gyms, aquatic centers and event facilities, to detect and prevent crime, and protect people.

The Work:

You will be:

Sitting in front of a bank of up to 15 screens, in a security operation center constantly monitoring the live pictures that come in from the surveillance cameras and information from alarm and access control systems.

Responsibilities:

·       Monitoring anyone acting suspiciously, and alerting security staff or police if you see an act of theft,

vandalism or any other crime.

·       Dispatching security guards to various sites for incident response.

·       Calling and interfacing with police when alarms are activated or suspicious activity is observed.

·       Operating the position of several PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) and viewing fixed cameras to focus on particular

areas, individuals, and to perform a remote guard tour.

·       Monitoring staff, visitors, and occupants in buildings for their safety.

·       Keeping a detailed log of all incidents.

·       Support for access control and alarm system, locking and unlocking building remotely, responding to

intrusion alarm notifications.

·       Keep a log of all equipment onsite and offsite which is not functioning or requires repair.

·       Answer telephone calls from customers for assistance with alarm system activations or with remote

access to buildings.

·       Ensuring the CCTV system is fully functioning, and that video footage is recorded and stored

appropriately.

·       Archiving and processing video footage of suspicious activities, vandalism, or other active crimes.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Loss prevention: 1 year (Required)
  • Surveillance: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Security Guard: Beneficial though not required
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute accurately
  • Proficient with Word and Excel

Shift availability:

  • Overnight Shift (Required)

Potential Schedule:

·        7PM – 7AM

·        7PM – 11PM

·        11PM – 7AM

You would work indoors in a central control room in front of a number of screens.

You would be expected to work shifts to cover 4, 8, or 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The hours of operations are from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Daily. We have immediate openings for full time positions and part time split shifts.

The company will train qualified applicants who possess a high degree of computer and observational skills.

You will work and be trained by a team of surveillance professionals.

You would keep in frequent contact with supervisors through telephone and radio contact.
