Manufacturing Process Engineer – Summary
Our client is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer to support high-temperature furnace operations at its South Bend facility. The engineer will become the process owner/SME for assigned furnace processes and support equipment reliability, manufacturing operations, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and improve high-temperature furnace manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot equipment and perform root-cause/FMEA analysis.
- Analyze process data for specification compliance.
- Train, mentor, audit, and certify operators/technicians.
- Coordinate equipment readiness, maintenance, and outage planning.
- Support manufacturing engineering, facilities, and equipment reliability.
- Develop technical solutions and improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
- Mechanical or Chemical Engineering experience.
- Knowledge of PLCs, DCS, HMI, SAP/HOS, and CAD.
- FMEA/root-cause analysis experience.
- Manufacturing, facilities, or equipment reliability experience.
- Project management and leadership skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to climb stairs/ladders, walk approximately two miles per day, perform hands-on work, and occasionally work in 80–100°F environments.
