Schmidt Associates is looking for a Controls Systems Engineer to join our team to support the optimization of building systems for our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assessing controls system operation for clients on site and remotely via internet connection.
  • Providing on-going optimization services
  • Identifying optimization opportunities
  • Working with energy engineers to develop savings calculations
  • Observing and reviewing system and control installation processes for design compliance.
  • Leading a process upon occupancy to assure proper system operation by partnering with controls contractors, mechanical contractors and construction managers.
  • Assisting the Owner during their operation training phase.
  • Reviewing construction submittals as they relate to engineering systems and control applications.
Qualifications:
  • Strong competency in engineering building systems operation and control applications.
  • Ability to coordinate and integrate system control applications into the firm’s facility design process.
  • Work with and inform owners on operation and optimization techniques for their systems.
  • Skills in implementation of quality procedures are necessary.
  • Ability to meet project deliverables and deadlines.
Experience/Education:
  • Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license from the State of Indiana is preferred but not required
