This position is much more than security-it is about building professional relationships, mentoring residents, promoting accountability, and helping individuals make positive life changes. Resident Specialists serve as daily role models who balance safety, structure, and encouragement while working closely with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to resident success.

What You'll Do

As a Resident Specialist, you will supervise residents throughout their daily activities while maintaining the safety and security of the facility. Through consistent interaction, effective communication, and professional guidance, you will help residents navigate challenges, reinforce positive behaviors, and hold them accountable to program expectations.

Success in this role requires strong observation skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm in dynamic situations. You'll document resident activity accurately, communicate important information to fellow staff and leadership, and collaborate with treatment, programming, and other departments to ensure each resident receives consistent support.

Resident Specialists are expected to follow established policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with facility standards. Every interaction is an opportunity to promote personal responsibility, reinforce positive decision-making, and contribute to a secure therapeutic environment.
