Job description

Since 1996, RQ Construction, LLC. has been a leading player in Southern California's robust commercial and governmental Design-Build economy. We have a national and international presence spanning coast to coast, including U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and now, Puerto Rico. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.

We are seeking Concrete General Labor candidates to join our new Self-Perform team on construction projects located in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Working within a crew of team members, the Concrete General Laborer is responsible for performing tasks that involve physical labor at construction sites using hand and power tools of all types. This position may also assist other craft workers in their duties, while also cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, setting braces for support, erecting scaffolding, cleaning up rubble and debris, and removing other non-hazardous waste materials. In addition, this position may operate one or several types of power construction equipment, as well as repairing and maintaining all equipment as appropriate. This is to do be done while implementing the required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Pay: $15 per hour, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(K) with Match

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education for this position.
  • Two (2) or more years' (or equivalent) field or trade work experience in a commercial, or facilities operations setting is desired, but not required; prior government, military, or large commercial construction experience desired. Concrete/ICF experience preferred.
  • Spanish-English bilingual skills desirable.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications required; specific training or certificates in the following preferred:
    • Trenching and shoring training
    • Fall protection training
    • Confined space training
    • Forklift/Manlift training and certificate
    • Lockout/Tagout training
    • Scissor lift/boom lift certificate
    • EM-385
    • OSHA 10-hour
    • OSHA 30-hour

Trabajando dentro de un equipo de miembros del equipo, el Concrete General Laborer es responsable de realizar tareas que implican trabajo fisico en obras de construccion utilizando herramientas manuales y electricas de todo tipo. Esta posicion tambien puede ayudar a otros trabajadores artesanales en sus deberes, mientras que tambien la limpieza y preparacion de sitios, cavar zanjas, colocacion de tirantes para el apoyo, el montaje de andamios, la limpieza de escombros y escombros, y la eliminacion de otros materiales de desecho no peligrosos. Ademas, este puesto puede manejar uno o varios tipos de equipos de construccion motorizados, asi como reparar y mantener todos los equipos segun proceda. Esto debe hacerse mientras se implementan las practicas de seguridad requeridas en apoyo de la Mision, Vision y Valores de RQ.

EDUCACION Y EXPERIENCIA:

  • La educacion formal minima preferida para este puesto es un diploma de bachillerato o GED.
  • Dos (2) o mas anos (o equivalente) de experiencia en el campo o el comercio de trabajo en un entorno comercial, o las operaciones de las instalaciones se desea, pero no es necesario; gobierno anterior, militar, o la experiencia de construccion comercial de gran deseada. Preferible experiencia en hormigon/ICF.
  • Habilidades bilingues espanol-ingles deseable.
  • Se requieren certificaciones en RCP y primeros auxilios; se prefiere formacion especifica o certificados en lo siguiente:
  • Formacion en zanjas y apuntalamiento
  • Formacion en proteccion contra caidas
  • Formacion en espacios confinados
  • Formacion y certificado en carretillas elevadoras/Manlift
  • Formacion en bloqueo y etiquetado
  • Certificado de elevador de tijera/elevador de pluma
