Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development, integration, testing, and maintenance of embedded software systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in embedded software development using C/C++, VxWorks, and real-time operating systems. This role involves leading software architecture, development, verification, and integration activities while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities:
Lead activities to develop, document, and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs.
Lead the development, integration, and debugging of complex software components into fully functional embedded software systems.
Develop software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments.
Execute software testing and document results to ensure software requirements are met.
Evaluate software performance and conduct software analysis to improve reliability and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Work under minimal supervision while providing technical leadership and guidance.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field.
9+ years of experience in software engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience developing and debugging software using C and C++.
Experience with VxWorks development and debugging.
Experience developing and debugging embedded software systems.
Experience with software performance evaluation and analysis.
Experience using bug tracking and source control systems.
Preferred Skills:
Experience developing embedded software for ARM processors.
Experience with industry-standard Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD + 4 years' related work experience, Master + 7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is preferred, although not required.
