At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, our Patient Access team plays a critical role in both patient experience and financial performance. We're seeking a detail-oriented
Patient Access Services Quality Control Coordinator to ensure the accuracy of patient registrations, improve workflows, and support compliance across all intake and financial processes.
What You'll Do
- Conduct weekly quality assurance audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of patient registrations
- Review key data elements including demographics, insurance, financial class, and guarantor information
- Identify, correct, and report registration errors; track trends and provide actionable insights
- Develop and deliver reports on error rates, root causes, and performance improvement opportunities
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Train and mentor Patient Access staff on best practices, insurance verification, and documentation standards
- Support development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve data integrity
- Assist with registration workflows during high-volume periods as needed
- Collaborate with billing and financial services to prevent reimbursement delays
- Serve as liaison between Patient Access, billing, and insurance providers
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer regulations, and hospital policies
What You Bring
- Strong knowledge of patient registration, insurance verification, and payer requirements
- Advanced analytical skills with ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Experience auditing and improving registration accuracy and workflows
- Strong communication and training skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Meditech and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Patient Access, hospital registration, or related experience required
- Demonstrated success meeting quality and productivity standards
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- College degree or CPAT certification preferred
- Medical terminology coursework a plus
Requirements
- LA City Fire Card (within 30 days of hire)
- CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) certification (within 30 days of hire)
