Overview

RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.

RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

We have a robust scholarship program for those furthering their education in a medical field, excellent benefits, and a friendly work environment. Responsibilities

PRN (On-Call) Occupational Therapist (OT)

Location: Hospital / outpatientPosition Status: On-Call PRN; Non-exempt subject to over-time

Schedule: PRN; flexible scheduling available; includes weekend and holiday rotation

Pay Range: $39.78 - $55.70 (based on experience) 

RiverView Health has an opening for an On-call Occupational Therapist. The Occupational Therapist is a clinically competent, licensed professional of their discipline who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients through the process of evaluation, ongoing assessment, planning, and implementation of therapy interventions.  Effectively and professionally interacts with patients, family members, responsible party, and other health care team members, while maintaining RiverView Health's standards of behavior.  Complies with regulatory standards of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the Department of Health, and any other professional guidelines or standards.  Completes evaluations/treatments with people of all ages from pediatrics to geriatric.  Settings may include inpatient care, sub-acute care, outpatient care, and occupational health. Position does include working a weekend and holiday rotation. Salary range is $39.78 - $55.70 and starting wage is dependent on experience.

Primary responsibilities

  • Evaluate and interpret patient assessments to determine necessity for skilled services and develop occupational therapy plans of care
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes to achieve established therapy goals
  • Identify patient's needs (physical, cultural, and psychosocial) and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy to individual differences
  • Provides guidance and education to patients and their families on adaptive techniques and equipment
  • Document and complete billing according to current standards and policies
  • Perform data collection and obtain accurate information
  • Effectively delegate tasks and supervise occupational therapist assistants as needed
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
  • Assist in maintenance of equipment, tools, supplies, and inventory
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards
  • Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge
Qualifications

Required:

  • Current State of Minnesota license in Occupational Therapy, which must be in good standing. 
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.  
  • Current American Heart BLS certification. If not current, training will be provided and certification must be obtained within 4 months from the date of hire or employment will be terminated.
