Job description

Overview
RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.
RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.
We have a robust scholarship program for those furthering their education in a medical field, excellent benefits, and a friendly work environment. Responsibilities
RiverView Health is looking to hire an "on-call" Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). The COTA will work as a member of our occupational therapy team to provide treatment for patients in the outpatient, inpatient, and sub-acute settings; patient population opportunities include: pediatrics, functional cognition, hand therapy, occupational health, and medical/mobility equipment assessment and training. The COTA is expected to effectively and professionally interacting with patients, family members, and other health care team members while maintaining RiverView Health standards of behavior. The position does include working a weekend/holiday rotation. Salary range is $27.46 - $38.45 and starting wage is dependent on experience.
Primary responsibilities:
  • Provides treatment as per plan of care established by occupational therapist
  • Identify patient's needs (physical, cultural, and psychosocial) and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy to individual differences
  • Document and complete billing according to current standards and policies
  • Perform selected data collection and obtain accurate information
  • Assist in maintenance of equipment, tools, supplies, and inventory
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards
  • Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge

Qualifications
  • Current State of Minnesota license as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant / COTA or proactively in the process of the application process for current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant / COTA.
  • Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) associate degree from an accredited school is required.
  • Current American Heart BLS certification is required. If not current training will be provided and certification must be obtained within 4 months from the date of hire or employment will be terminated.
