Job description
Tharros is seeking a Human System Integration Engineer for an upcoming program supporting a US Navy customer focused on research, engineering, and technical center focused on information warfare, cybersecurity, C4ISR, electronic warfare, AI/ML, communications, and related defense technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and evaluate Human Systems Integration (HSI) solutions supporting Navy Command and Control (C2) environments to improve operator effectiveness, situational awareness, and mission execution.
- Analyze human-machine interaction requirements and develop user-centered interfaces, workflows, visualizations, and decision-support capabilities integrating AI/ML, NLP, and operational data sources into Common Operating Picture (COP) environments.
- Conduct usability assessments, operational evaluations, and workflow analyses to optimize human interaction with tactical systems, mission applications, and distributed computing environments supporting joint and coalition operations.
- Collaborate with software engineers, mission operators, and government stakeholders to translate operational requirements into intuitive system designs and human-centered technical solutions.
- Support integration, testing, and validation activities within DevSecOps and representative Navy operational environments including CANES, afloat systems, experimentation labs, and tactical command centers.
- Provide recommendations for enhancing operator performance, reducing cognitive workload, and improving mission responsiveness through advanced visualization, automation, alerting, and predictive decision-support technologies.
