Work Environment

The position will be based onsite at our facility, where you will work in collaboration with a skilled team of healthcare providers in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role is structured around a Monday to Friday schedule, specifically with evening shifts starting at 5:00 PM, accommodating the needs of our diverse patient population. Our environment promotes teamwork, continued learning, and a patient-centered approach to care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient examinations and meticulously review medical records to ascertain patient needs and history.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to order and interpret critical tests, such as blood tests and X-rays, ensuring timely and accurate results.
  • Diagnose and manage various acute health conditions and illnesses, providing immediate support and care to patients.
  • Formulate and implement effective treatment plans for chronic diseases, ensuring ongoing monitoring and adjustment as necessary.
  • Prescribe medications, providing oversight on patient adherence and medication effectiveness throughout the treatment process.
  • Maintain organized and precise patient records and schedules, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient workflows.
  • Educate patients and their families on prevalent medical conditions, preventive measures, and health promotion strategies.
  • Oversee the overall health and well-being of patients, fostering relationships that support better health outcomes.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through research initiatives, staying updated with the latest medical practices and advancements.
  • Promote a culture of health awareness and proactive engagement in healthy practices among patients and the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population includes individuals of all ages presenting with a range of acute medical concerns, from minor injuries to more complex health conditions. As a Physician Assistant, your role will directly affect patient satisfaction and health outcomes by tailoring solutions to meet the specific needs of our community. You will work closely with patients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring personalized care that respects their cultural and individual health needs.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • At least one year of professional experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Current board certification or eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine.
  • An active, unrestricted medical license to practice in New York state.
  • A valid DEA license to prescribe medications.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is highly desirable and will aid in serving a broader patient base.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in an urgent care or hospital environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and healthcare technology to facilitate patient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a healthcare team.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess patient needs rapidly.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer an annual quality incentive, with a target of $50,000, enhancing your overall compensation package.
