Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team at Pyramid Care Consultants. This full-time remote position is based in Tallahassee, Florida, where you will play a crucial role in helping trauma injury patients navigate their mental health challenges. Your expertise will empower patients to overcome obstacles, develop coping strategies, and implement effective treatment plans tailored to their unique needs.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will enjoy the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to manage your own schedule while maintaining consistent communication with both patients and staff. You will operate within an outpatient office framework, collaborating closely with a team of healthcare professionals and utilizing various technologies to enhance patient care. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations of patients to assess their mental health needs and challenges related to trauma.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that address the unique circumstances and goals of each patient.
• Engage with patients through active listening and empathy to understand their problems and emotional states.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help patients develop effective coping strategies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, social agencies, and community organizations to refer patients for additional support services.
• Monitor patient progress through regular follow-up sessions, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Provide education and resources to patients and their families on stress management and coping mechanisms.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain your National Certified Counselor certification and remain informed about the latest practices in mental health counseling.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with individuals who have experienced trauma. This group may include those facing emotional disturbances due to physical injuries, loss, or other significant life challenges. You will provide a safe space where they can openly express their feelings while guiding them to healthier mindsets and strategies for living with their experiences.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience specifically working with trauma patients, showcasing a strong understanding of trauma-informed care practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, enhancing your ability to maintain documentation and engage with digital tools effectively.
• Exceptional communication skills that foster trust and rapport with patients, colleagues, and external partners.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Salesforce and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of recent developments in trauma recovery methodologies and practices.

Compensation and Benefits
