Position Overview

Pyramid Care Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. Work Environment

This role is designed for a remote work setting, allowing you to maintain a flexible work-life balance while being an integral part of our outpatient office structure. You will have access to advanced electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to document and monitor patient progress efficiently. Our virtual work environment encourages collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, ensuring a holistic approach to client care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting thorough preliminary interviews to gather comprehensive client history and documenting findings accurately from initial consultations through to treatment completion.
  • Evaluating clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health and formulating appropriate diagnosis based on established criteria.
  • Developing tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, addressing specific clinical issues and goals.
  • Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing effective therapeutic techniques to support clients’ mental health journey.
  • Continuously monitoring client progress against treatment goals and adjusting plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborating with other mental health specialists and medical professionals to create comprehensive and cohesive intervention strategies.
  • Coordinating follow-up care with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who have been hospitalized, ensuring continuity of care and support.
  • Identifying and mitigating barriers to recovery, while providing education and resources to families and primary caregivers on managing mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will serve a diverse patient population encompassing a range of mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse. You will work closely with individuals from various backgrounds, focusing on their unique needs and collaborating to create personalized pathways to recovery. Your expertise will be critical in empowering clients to reach their mental health goals and navigate life’s challenges.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated previous experience working as a mental health counselor, showcasing proficiency in therapeutic techniques and client management.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, for documentation and treatment planning.
  • Thorough understanding of underlying physical and emotional health conditions and their interplay with mental health, including addiction disorders.
  • Familiarity with best practices according to the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and families.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor, essential for establishing trust with clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with a diverse client base and understanding cultural competency in therapeutic practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with family systems therapy and group therapy facilitation.
  • Awareness of the various medications prescribed for mental health conditions, along with their side effects and implications for therapy.
Compensation and Benefits
