Job description

SEO Specialist Job Description

We are a digital marketing agency dedicated to providing ethical marketing for the behavioral healthcare industry. We are experts in everything from SEO and PPC to video marketing, branding, and AI-driven search optimization and are passionate about marketing with a mission and ensuring that our work is making a positive impact on others’ lives.

The SEO Specialist role is a valued leadership position responsible for helping lead and shape the SEO department. You will report directly to our Director of Operations, who is highly experienced in SEO and will support you throughout your transition into the role. This is a full-time, fully remote position. As a collaborative, close-knit agency, this role may occasionally extend beyond the responsibilities listed below.

  • Salary range: $70,000-$80,000 depending on experience 
Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage SEO strategies across 10-15 websites

  • Work alongside our other SEO Manager to shape and lead the SEO department

  • Develop SEO and organic growth strategies for newly assigned clients

  • Build and manage backlink strategies

  • Complete technical SEO audits and implement fixes

  • Create monthly reports detailing completed work, results, and performance insights

  • Fulfill monthly SEO deliverables, including link building, on-page optimization, and content optimization

  • Optimize, create, and monitor Google Business Profiles

  • Create and manage directory profiles and local citations

  • Implement E-E-A-T best practices across all websites

  • Optimize websites and content for evolving AI-powered search experiences, including AI Overviews, generative search engines, and conversational search platforms

  • Identify opportunities to improve visibility in both traditional search engines and AI-driven search results

  • Problem-solve and address SEO performance issues proactively

  • Stay up to date with the latest SEO, AI search, and digital marketing trends

  • Join client meetings to discuss SEO performance, strategy, and recommendations (with a gradual transition into client-facing responsibilities)

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience creating and implementing SEO strategies

  • Experience developing strategies for both traditional SEO and emerging AI search optimization

  • Experience being client-facing and managing conversations around strategy, data, and expectations

  • Experience building links and analyzing backlink profiles

  • Experience using WordPress, SEMrush, and Ahrefs

  • Experience with account management and client communication

  • Experience with SEO in the healthcare or behavioral healthcare space preferred

  • Strong understanding of technical SEO, content optimization, and local SEO

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Hard-working, proactive problem solver

  • Detail-oriented and highly accountable
