Professional Search Group OC is seeking an experienced and motivated Inside Sales Representative for an established Southern California company specializing in the distribution of wood products, architectural panels, plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, and related materials serving customers across the construction, cabinetry, millwork, woodworking, and architectural industries.

This position is designed for a driven sales professional who wants to build a career in outside sales. The successful candidate will begin by developing product knowledge, learning the customer base, managing inbound and warm sales opportunities, reactivating existing accounts, and developing new business from the office. As product knowledge, customer relationships, and sales performance grow, the role will transition into a field-based Outside Sales Representative position with responsibility for developing and managing customers throughout Southern California.

Professional Search Group OC's client has a strong existing customer base, including accounts that have not been consistently serviced, providing the opportunity to generate business through warm calls, account reactivation, follow-up, and new-business development.

Inside Sales Representative Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of the company's products, including wood products, plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, architectural panels, and related materials.
• Manage and grow relationships with existing customers through consistent communication and follow-up.
• Reconnect with warm accounts and customers that have not been consistently serviced.
• Respond to inbound inquiries, customer requests, and sales opportunities.
• Make outbound calls and conduct proactive outreach to existing and prospective customers.
• Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts and through prospecting activities.
• Develop relationships with contractors, distributors, manufacturers, cabinet shops, millwork companies, architects, designers, and other industry customers.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
• Prepare quotes, follow up on opportunities, and manage the sales process through close.
• Follow up consistently on open quotes and opportunities to maximize conversion.
• Build a strong pipeline of prospective customers and sales opportunities.
• Research prospective customers and identify businesses that may benefit from the company's products and services.
• Maintain accurate customer, prospect, and sales activity information using Agility, including its mobile application.
• Partner closely with operations, customer service, purchasing, and other internal teams to ensure customer needs are handled effectively.
• Learn the Southern California market, customer base, competitive landscape, and key industry relationships.
• Participate in sales meetings and training designed to prepare for the transition into outside sales.
• Consistently achieve sales, account-development, activity, and new-business goals.

Inside Sales Representative Requirements:

• 1+ year of Customer Service/Sales Experience a plus
• Industry experience a plus
• Eagerness to learn and grow into an outside sales role
• Company utilizes Agility, including its mobile application, for sales and customer management
