The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Veterinary Toxicologist to provide scientific leadership in product safety, risk assessment, and stewardship for innovative consumer products and technologies involving animal-related applications. This role serves as a key expert in veterinary toxicology and animal safety, partnering across research and development, product safety, regulatory, quality, and clinical functions to ensure products meet high standards for safety, quality, and performance.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong eagerness to learn and grow professionally and possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific information into actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate has experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to deliver business and technical outcomes. This role is perfect for those with passion for innovation and problem-solving, along with a proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to new challenges. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead veterinary toxicology and safety assessments throughout the product lifecycle, from early-stage innovation through marketplace stewardship.
  • Evaluate ingredients, formulations, materials, and technologies to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
  • Develop science-based safety strategies and risk assessment approaches that enable innovation and responsible commercialization.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into product and technology development.
  • Provide expert guidance on veterinary, toxicological, and exposure science topics to support business decisions.
  • Support regulatory submissions, product stewardship activities, and post-market safety monitoring.
  • Build relationships with external scientific experts and contribute to advancing safety science and industry best practices.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education Requirement: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or equivalent) required.
  • Experience in veterinary toxicology, animal health, product safety, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, or related scientific fields.
  • Strong understanding of toxicology, risk assessment, exposure science, and product safety evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply scientific expertise to solve complex technical and business challenges.
  • Advanced training, board certification, or additional education in toxicology, pharmacology, biomedical sciences, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Hybrid work schedule; location requirement at Mason Business Center, Cincinnati, OH.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology or related discipline.
  • Experience managing post-market safety surveillance programs.
