Position Overview

ProActive Physical Therapy is actively seeking a talented and dedicated Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team in East Syracuse, New York. Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center located in East Syracuse, NY. Our facility is equipped with advanced therapeutic equipment and a supportive team environment that encourages innovation and improvement in patient care practices. You will work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility needed to accommodate patient schedules and clinical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that focus on increasing mobility, strength, and functional performance for each patient.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and daily activities designed for rehabilitation and pain management.
• Educate patients regarding proper body mechanics and exercise techniques to optimize the home care component of their rehabilitation programs.
• Utilize various treatment modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and thermotherapy while adhering to safety and ethical standards.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, including improvements in range of motion, strength, and other functional outcomes.
• Prepare treatment areas and ensure proper organization of therapy supplies, making them readily available for efficient sessions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to enhance comprehensive patient care.
• Provide emotional support and motivational guidance to patients during their rehabilitation journey, promoting a positive atmosphere.
• Uphold confidentiality and respect for patients’ rights in all aspects of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, seniors needing geriatric care, athletes requiring sports rehabilitation, children with specific developmental needs, and patients with neurological challenges. Your role will directly impact these patients' recovery processes and their ability to return to normal activities.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and the treatment team.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a physical therapy setting, with exposure to various rehabilitation protocols, is preferred. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to USD 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
