Job Summary: The Injection Molding Operator is responsible for monitoring injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components.
This role ensures machines run efficiently, parts meet quality standards, and production goals are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
- Operate injection molding machines according to standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Set up machines for production runs, including loading materials and verifying parameters.
- Monitor machine performance to maintain product quality and minimize downtime.
Quality Assurance:
- Inspect parts for quality, checking for defects and ensuring they meet specifications.
- Document inspection results and report quality issues to the Shift Supervisor.
- Follow quality control procedures to maintain high standards of production.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Identify and report basic equipment malfunctions and report issues requiring technical assistance.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning machines and checking fluid levels as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety training sessions and report any safety concerns to the Shift Supervisor.
Production Efficiency:
- Monitor production rates and strive to meet or exceed established targets.
- Work with team members to identify and implement process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production records, including downtime.
Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments.
- Assist in training new operators and sharing best practices.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by supporting team goals and initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None
- Required Experience: Basic manufacturing experience preferred
- Computer Skills: Basic Microsoft programs (i.e. Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
- Travel Requirements: None
- Other Qualifications/Requirements or Skills:
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read work orders and safety/quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand written and verbal English communication.
