Job description

As a Product Testing Technician, you will be a part of completing industry-leading research in our testing facility. You will conduct and document various hands-on laboratory tests, including tensile, environmental, and vibration testing. You’ll utilize your problem-solving skills to identify issues and ensure our products meet quality and performance standards. You will also work closely with engineers and have support and guidance from senior technicians.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mechanical, electrical, fiber optic, environmental and vibration testing according to PLP ISO procedures.
  • Maintain neat and detailed logs of testing data.
  • Assist with demonstrations for visitors.
  • Assemble product samples for Sales, Marketing and International Departments.
  • Perform test gauge calibration.
  • Do minor machining, such as drilling and cutting of material.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance and minor repairs on test equipment. Report broken or faulty tools to Laboratory Supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must have High School diploma, continued education preferably in an Engineering Technology field.
  • Able to operate test equipment.
  • Able to take accurate measurements.
  • Able to document logs and write test reports.
  • Able to set up and conduct testing.
  • Able to lift, lower and carry up to 50 lbs. and able to push or pull with at least 50 lbs. force.

  • Fulltime
  • Standard office hours with flextime
