Job description

We are seeking a motivated Sheet Metal Fabricator & Assembler to join the A Team! In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication, finish, and assembly of premium sheet metal products and components. Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Assembly

  • Fabricate Components: Use shears, rollers, hoists, cranes, and hand tools to cut, bend, and shape sheet metal into precise required forms.

  • Assemble Products: Join sheet metal parts using riveting, fastening, and other assembly techniques to produce high-quality finished products or sub-assemblies.

  • Crate & Package: Safely build custom transport crates using hand and power tools (hammers, nail guns, impact drivers, saws, and drills) to protect finished products during shipping.

Quality, Blueprint Reading & Precision

  • Interpret Blueprints: Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure exact dimensions, angles, and tolerances.

  • Quality Assurance: Verify that all finished materials meet exact customer and company standards using precision measuring devices and gauges. Report any nonconformities immediately.

  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain 5S standards across your work area, focusing on safety, organization, and eliminating waste in all daily processes.

Operations & Documentation

  • Safety First: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and proactively report any safety hazards or concerns.

  • Time & Cost Tracking: Maintain timely and accurate clocking across multiple software programs for timecards and job costing.

  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate daily records of material usage, tasks completed, and any manufacturing issues encountered.

Qualifications & Skills

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Heavy Equipment: Experience operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) such as forklifts and powered pallet jacks is highly preferred.

  • Measurement Precision: Previous experience using measuring devices with the ability to easily comprehend and work with $1/16\text{-inch}$ increments.

  • Tech-Savvy: Basic computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and shop floor software programs.
