About the Role:

The 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday 6:30am- 4:30pm, Metal Finisher plays a critical role in ensuring that metal components meet precise quality and aesthetic standards before they proceed to the next stage of production or shipment. This position involves working during the second shift to apply various finishing techniques such as grinding, polishing, buffing, and deburring to metal parts. The Metal Finisher must carefully inspect each piece to identify imperfections and apply corrective measures to achieve a smooth, defect-free surface. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to maintain product integrity and workplace safety. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall manufacturing process by enhancing the durability and appearance of metal products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in metal finishing, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
  • Ability to work the 1st shift schedule reliably.
  • Basic understanding of metal properties and finishing techniques.
  • Capability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or training in metal finishing or surface treatment processes.
  • Experience with automated finishing machinery and hand tools.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints or technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection methods.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain metal finishing equipment including grinders, polishers, and buffers during the 1st shift.
  • Perform surface preparation tasks such as deburring, sanding, and polishing to meet quality specifications.
  • Inspect metal parts for defects, surface imperfections, and dimensional accuracy, documenting findings as required.
  • Collaborate with quality control and production teams to ensure finished products meet customer and company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Metal Finisher to effectively operate finishing equipment and perform precise surface treatments that enhance product quality.
