Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and clinical partners from various disciplines, ensuring a unified approach to supporting families.
  • Document all relevant therapeutic interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes promptly and accurately to maintain quality standards.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings, sharing insights and recommendations to enhance service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically focuses on providing therapeutic services to a diverse range of children and teens aged 3-20 who exhibit developmental and intellectual disabilities. The therapist will engage with clients from various backgrounds, fostering trust and understanding while addressing unique emotional and behavioral challenges. By tailoring interventions to meet the individual needs of each client, the therapist will play an integral role in improving their overall well-being and family dynamics.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) certification.
  • Availability to provide therapy sessions for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with weekend availability considered a plus.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to conduct sessions or attend meetings as necessary.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in providing positive behavior support and implementing effective behavioral strategies.
  • Previous work with children who have intellectual or developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.
