Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As an Architectural Design Project Coordinator,you will oversee and provide CAD support for capital projects under $640k within UCLA Health Real Estate | Planning, Design & Construction. Primary duties include:

  • Manage small projects with regular guidance, from cost estimation to close-out.
  • Scope new project requests and propose project implementation, budget, and schedule.
  • Develop CAD drawings by working through design development, schematic design, and construction documentation.
  • Oversee the hiring and coordination of contracted engineers. Recommend modifications to design, construction, and vendor contracts, as needed.
  • Communicate with contracted vendors and UCLA Health clients.
  • Oversee project review for compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Manage submittals to HCAI and UCLA plan check.
  • Ensure all training and close-out documents meet contract requirements and are properly distributed.

Salary Range:

$38.65 to $80.70 hourly. Target range: $40-$48 hourly.

Job QualificationsRequired
  • At least one year of experience in using CAD.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training.
  • Working knowledge of design and construction processes.
  • Excellent time management, with ability to organize and facilitate projects.
  • Ability to analyze information, problems, situations, practices, and procedures to define objectives and develop project scope.
  • Ability to interpret legal and technical documents.
  • Skill in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines despite workload changes.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers and department personnel.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Bluebeam, with the ability to learn and work with different software products and analyze data for management reporting.
Preferred
  • Familiarity with California Building Code, Title 22, and HCAI (OSHPD) requirements

Current/former UC employees are subject to a personnel file review.
