Work Environment

Working from our community health clinic located in Brookhaven, New York, this remote role allows for flexibility and a supportive team dynamic that fosters mental wellness. Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a primary point of contact for families, establishing proactive communication to support therapeutic processes.
  • Facilitate a range of therapeutic modalities, including individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy, adhering to our proprietary clinical model and the principles of Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
  • Conduct Family Orientations and Welcome Presentations, fostering engagement and understanding of our therapeutic offerings.
  • Detailed documentation of client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with established standards and timelines.
  • Utilize technology effectively by entering and managing client data within Word, Outlook, EMR systems, and through online learning resources.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, clinical supervision, and staff discussions to collaborate on patient care strategies.
  • Represent Positive Progress Counseling Center at conferences and trainings, contributing to the ongoing improvement of our service delivery.
  • Independently manage your schedule to meet client needs while accomplishing outlined goals and responsibilities efficiently.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on adolescents and young adults facing a variety of challenges, including mental health issues, substance abuse, trauma, and eating disorders. As an LMFT, you will work closely with these clients and their families, providing necessary guidance and support while implementing therapeutic practices that promote resilience and healing.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required. Enrollment in a Doctorate program from an accredited institution is also acceptable.
  • Must be board registered (APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, MHCA) or hold a Psychological Associate certification within the state of New York.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing individual, group, or family therapy, specifically with adolescents and young adults.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse treatment, eating disorders, or trauma-informed care methodologies is preferred.
  • A strong background in evidence-based practices that address family dynamics and support systemic change is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 – $105,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus. In addition, our comprehensive benefits package includes:
