Pivot Point PT is on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility located in the heart of Tacoma, Washington. Work Environment

Working onsite at our Tacoma facility, you will be surrounded by a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, speech therapists, and rehabilitation aides. The facility is designed to create a welcoming and accessible environment for our patients, equipped with the latest rehabilitation equipment and resources. You will enjoy a full workweek from Monday to Friday, with standard hours from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of upper extremity function, fine motor skills, range of motion, strength, and dexterity to establish individualized treatment plans.
• Develop and implement custom rehabilitation programs that cater to the unique goals and needs of each patient.
• Utilize pain management techniques, such as desensitization therapy and graded motor imagery, to aid in pain relief and functional recovery.
• Educate patients on techniques for joint protection, energy conservation, and strategies for adapting to their daily activities.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient progress notes in our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, ensuring continuity of care.
• Engage in regular case reviews with fellow team members to assess treatment efficacy and optimize therapeutic strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients recovering from orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical rehabilitation and trauma recovery. The diverse clientele includes individuals of various ages, from athletes needing sports medicine recovery to elderly patients requiring assistance with age-related musculoskeletal issues. You will play a critical role in facilitating their rehabilitation journey, improving their mobility, and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• Active Washington State Occupational Therapist License or eligibility to acquire one.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in orthopedic and outpatient settings.
• Proficient assessment skills and the ability to develop thorough and individualized treatment plans for a variety of conditions.
• Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members.

Preferred Experience

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Experience in a rehabilitation facility or sports medicine clinic is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with modalities such as sensory integration, fine/gross motor therapy, and cognitive rehabilitation techniques.
• Knowledge of upper extremity rehabilitation protocols, post-surgical care, and the use of splinting techniques.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
