Job description

HGA is seeking a Quality (QA/QC) Coordinator - Mechanical to support operations in Rayville, LA. This role is responsible for leading mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection (MPFP) quality assurance and quality control efforts, ensuring all systems are installed, inspected, documented, and prepared for zero defect turnover. The Coordinator will work closely with trade partners, vendors, and client teams to uphold the project's quality standards and maintain alignment with all specifications, drawings, and required workflows.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and uphold site safety expectations while performing required HammerTech inspections.
  • Serve as the QA/QC Lead for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection scopes, coordinating with MEP trade partner quality teams, Fire Protection teams, ancillary systems groups (BMS, Electrical, Fire Alarm, OFCI, MOFE), and client/3rd-party inspectors.
  • Verify and enforce compliance with drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and model-based requirements for all MPFP installations.
  • Manage all DFOW expectations by ensuring alignment with prescriptive and descriptive project requirements.
  • Ensure all required ATL forms (L1 before SIP and L2 before PEI) are accurately uploaded into ACC Build ahead of each phase gate.
  • Conduct daily QA/QC field walks, perform form audits, and generate, track, and close issues across Mechanical trades and ancillary partners.
  • Plan, track, and review mock-ups/First-of-Kind installations to support quality validation.
  • Own and maintain the full QA/QC log for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection scopes.
  • Lead by example-fostering strong relationships with trade partners, vendors, and client teams to support a unified OneTeam culture.
  • Facilitate pre-installation meetings for OFE Mechanical to review OFCI/MOFE submittals, identify scope gaps, align on ATL requirements, and ensure readiness.
  • Train and support QA/QC and Production teams on documentation standards, inspection readiness, ACC Build navigation, ATL workflows, and Power BI usage.
  • Execute and track MPFP quality inspections, including ancillary systems such as Electrical, BMS, and Fire Alarm.
  • Review and validate MPFP trade partners' QA/QC plans and confirm alignment with project quality programs.
  • Manage Asset Tracking Log (ATL) documentation from L1-L2 and ensure all required evidence is uploaded.
  • Audit at least 20% of forms for accuracy and completeness, coordinating corrective actions with trade partners when needed.
  • Lead periodic Client Quality Walks and support lessons-learned and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Oversee MPFP equipment protection plans to ensure compliance and minimize post-installation damage.
  • Drive issue resolution to achieve Zero Defects during inspections and turnover.
  • Develop, manage, and track Level 2 Microschedule activities for MPFP scopes, ensuring alignment with the project schedule, energization path, and CPP equipment requirements.
  • Conduct readiness inspections before scheduling 3rd-party inspections.
  • Coordinate 3rd-party LOTO procedures with Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection partners to ensure safe inspections.
  • Confirm anchoring submittals are approved prior to SIP inspections.
  • Review P6 schedules, ROJ logs, and OFCI/MOFE requirements to plan and schedule Set-in-Place inspections.
  • Coordinate OFCI/MOFE Pre-Start-Up and Start-Up activities and documentation with equipment teams to meet microschedule deadlines.
  • Support management of OFCI/MOFE equipment issues and scheduling to meet L2 Pre-Energization requirements.
  • Review asset information prior to SIP and PEI to confirm compliance with 01 40 00 specification requirements.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3-7+ years of experience in mechanical construction QA/QC, preferably on data centers or mission-critical projects
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Proven experience performing field inspections, managing quality documentation, and driving issue resolution
  • Familiarity with construction quality platforms (ACC Build, HammerTech) and project controls
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple trades, vendors, and inspection authorities
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in enforcing quality standards

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Building Systems / HVAC Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with data centers, mission-critical facilities, or complex industrial environments
  • Experience working with OFCI/MOFE scopes, asset tracking logs, and inspection workflows
