As a Projects PEI Inspector, you will work alongside project execution and discipline teams to verify pressure equipment, piping, and associated systems are fabricated, installed, and tested to approved standards. You will witness hold points, validate documentation, manage punch lists/NCRs, and support commissioning and handover to Operations.
What You'll be Doing
Execute inspection activities per ITPs: piping, static equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, valves and associated supports/anchors.
Witness and verify NDT, PWHT, pressure/leak tests, material traceability and welding documentation.
Perform field surveillance of contractors to confirm work quality, workmanship, and compliance with drawings/specs.
Verify PEI deliverables: MDRs, test packs, redlines/as-builts, certificates and turnover dossiers.
Participate in walkdowns, mechanical completion, systemization, punch management and commissioning readiness.
Promote HSSE: PTW/LOTO adherence, hazard identification, stop-work authority and safe execution.
Key Accountabilities
Quality & compliance: inspection findings are accurate, timely, and aligned to code/project requirements.
Hold point management: required witness points completed and documented with clear acceptance criteria.
Client/punch discipline: issues raised early, tracked to closure, and verified before handover.
Documentation integrity: complete, audit-ready inspection records, traceability and turnover packs.
Stakeholder coordination: effective interface with Construction, QA/QC, Welding, NDT, Commissioning and Operations.
Continuous improvement: identify repeat issues, share lessons learned, and improve ITP/field execution.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma
Requirements:
Technical foundation in mechanical/piping/inspection (degree, diploma, or trade background with relevant experience).
Working knowledge of PEI practices and common codes/standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS; local regulatory requirements).
Familiarity with welding, NDT methods, pressure testing, material certification/traceability and test pack management.
Strong field presence: attention to detail, assertive but collaborative communication, and sound judgment.
Competence in PTW/LOTO and construction HSSE requirements; willing to intervene/stop unsafe work.
Strong documentation skills and comfort with digital tools (inspection reports, Excel/SharePoint, CMMS/turnover systems).
